Look for the MEPS or MasterCard logo on ATMs in Malaysia and overseas. You may also link multiple accounts to your Debit Card-i.


Choose to link your Debit Card-i to any Current or Savings Account-I and the account will be automatically debited when a purchase is made.

Better Financial Management

An itemized monthly Debit Card-i statement can be viewed online. This is a complimentary service.

Alternatively, for a nominal fee of RM2.12 a month, you may request for the hardcopy version to be sent to the address on the Bank’s record.

Set your “Daily Retail Purchase Limit”, “Withdrawal Limit” and “Online Purchase Limit” based on your comfort level via Hong Leong Connect, Phone Banking, or visit any of our branches. The limit is capped at RM5,000.

As the Debit Card-i deducts amounts directly from your Savings or Current Account-i, it would be wise to spend within your means.

With effect from 30 December 2015, Debit Cardholders are required to activate the card prior to performing the following transactions:

– Overseas ATM withdrawal and Overseas Purchases

– Mail Order/Telephone Order

– Auto Debit

– Internet Purchase (non-3D secure transactions)

Activation can be done via:

– Hong Leong Connect


– A call to the Hong Leong Call Centre

– Any HLISB/HLB branch during banking hours.

On-The-Spot Approval

No income documents required. Just sign up at any of the 286 Hong Leong Islamic/Hong Leong Bank branches nationwide and walk out with your card.

Only Hong Leong Current Account-i/Current Account, or Savings Account-i/Savings Account holders above 18 years old may apply.

Go Cashless

Your card is accepted at over 30 million MasterCard merchants worldwide, and at MEPS e-debit merchants too.You may also make purchases online, transfer money and pay bills.

Based on standard industry practice, for petrol transactions (any amount) RM200 will be placed on hold for 3 days in your account. Your account balance will be reduced by RM200 on hold, and Cardholders will not be able to access this fund until the petrol transaction has been presented by the petrol company to the Bank for payment. After which, the amount, after deducting the purchase amount, will be released.


In the event of loss or theft of your Debit Card-i, and an unauthorized transaction is made, you will not be liable for the unauthorized transactions and for the losses incurred

Transaction Limit SMS Alert

Cardholders who would like to change their transaction limit SMS alert are required to write in for request to change the pre-determined amount/limit or totally opt out of this transaction limit SMS alert service.

Cardholder can obtain the SMS transaction Alert Service Maintenance Form (“Form”) from the nearest HLB branches or at www.hlb.com.my in order to change his/her transaction limit SMS alert/opt out the transaction limit SMS alert service.
