Every mother can vividly remember the day they found out they were pregnant.

It usually begins with a missed period. And then a home pregnancy test with one of the most accurate tests ever – Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator, which confirms what you have suspected.

You’re pregnant!

Being pregnant with your first child can elicit a lot of emotions that trigger a whole bunch of reactions. Here are the most common reactions of new mummies-to-be.

Breaking the news

When @aya.hamed shared the news to her husband in a most unexpected way, he was overcome with emotions. They have been trying for so long that it was a dream come true for them. She gave birth recently to a healthy baby boy!

The excitement is real… And before you know it, you have already let the cat out of the bag. Some parents may choose to reveal the good news after the three-month mark to be safe. But whatever the announcement timeline is, the moment the world knows about it, the reality of it all begins to sink in. You are going to be a mom!

Maternity Photo Shoots

Some moms-to-be choose to commemorate the momentous occasion by arranging for awesome photo shoots. After all, better cash in on all that pregnancy glow while you can! You can do it just once or even document your pregnancy progress every month for posterity’s sake!

Preparing the nursery

Those blessed with a spare room can start planning for a nursery where their little prince or princess will nestle in. Since it is too early to find out the gender of the baby, you may wish to paint or wallpaper the nursery walls in gender-neutral colours such as grey, aqua, mint green, teal, yellow, orange, or to postpone the paint job until after you’ve ascertained that the baby is a boy or a girl.

It’s also a good time to scout around at baby expos for good deals on baby clothes, diaper bags, strollers and more! You don’t have to buy them yet, but just listing what you will need and how much they cost will go a long way in your budget planning.

Hit the maternity clothes section

Who says you can’t look stylish while pregnant? These mommies-to-be are rocking it!

However, if you are reluctant to splurge on maternity fashion, you can invest in just a few basic pieces, such as jeans, tops or dresses.

Relax and enjoy the days of calm before the chaos

As you realise that your days as a footloose and fancy-free woman are numbered, you may want to book a “maternitymoon” (honeymoon for expecting mothers) to enjoy these last few blissful days with your partner. You don’t even have to go far. Just a few days of staycation or even vegetating in your own abode enjoying a home spa will do the trick. Uninterrupted sleep, glorious silence and reading your favourite books and magazines for hours on end will be something you can barely remember in the months to come. So savour them while you can.

Don’t forget to eat for two!

The best part about being pregnant is having permission to eat for TWO. Once your morning sickness bout has run its course, you can get ready to chow down on whatever your cravings desire (within reason, of course). The mommies below are clearly enjoying this phase very, very much!

We wish you a wonderful pregnancy and a smooth delivery ahead!
