We recently celebrated World Sight Day 2016 on 13 October at Focus Point, Sunway Pyramid. Themed “Stronger Together for Universal Eye Health”, visitors were treated to a colourful and interesting range of activities promoting eye and vision care. It is reported that 54% out of every 1,000 Malaysians suffer from low-vision impairment due to health issues.

Here’s a chart to indicate how frequently you need to conduct an eye examination, which promotes early detection of vision impairments:

Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang, CEO of Focus Point said that the company is committed to aid the cause of eye and vision care on World Sight Day annually, in line with their philosophy to give back and their motto “Caring Hearts – Together We Make a Difference”.

The Creatif Academy of Global Art participated with more than 10 students displaying hand-drawn art pieces of National flags depicting the Universal Eye Health theme. They then drew a painting of a globe within an eye with Dato’ Liaw putting the final touches to it, to symbolise the launch.

Focus Point also provided free eye checks with various high tech machines which can detect sophisticated eye problems. With every pair of eye wear purchased in October, Focus Point will be giving a pair of eye wear to the needy.
