5 Tips to Drop 10 Pounds in 6 Weeks
Whether you want to get rid of the additional pounds you’ve put on during the holidays, or to fit into a new dress for the upcoming dinner, dropping a few pounds is not so difficult. Joy Bauer, recognised as a leading nutrition authority, with a clientele that includes high-profile professionals, celebrity actors, fashion models, and Olympic athletes share these simple food swap tips to help you lose 10 pounds or more in the next six weeks.
Keep to One Serving of Cereal
If you want to lose weight, you need to trim calories by accurately measuring one serving (Serving sizes vary so check the package labeling) of cereal into your bowl (approximately 1 cup). For those who consume breakfast cereal, this tip will help you save almost 150 calories by cutting back on cereal and at least 50 calories in extra milk.
Reducing just one tablespoon of regular butter or margarine from your breakfast toast or potatoes each day can make a big change to your weight. You can also change to “reduced fat” and “trans-fat free” soft spread varieties, which are almost half the calories of the full-fat versions.
Remove the Mayo and Cheese
By omitting the slice of cheese and mayonnaise on your sandwich (Replace it with mustard – only five calories per teaspoon), you can save almost 200 calories per sandwich.
Avoid late-night snack
For many of us, evenings seem to be the perfect time to munch on snacks and load ourselves with calories; ice cream, cookies, potatoe chips, you name it. Snacks however should not exceed 150 calories but at our rate, on average we gobble way more than 250 calories as snacks after 8 p.m. The only way you can make a change is exercise some willpower and skip your nighttime snack altogether.
Delete the Extras
Without realising, we eat more than we need too – an innocent bite from your child’s plate and a munch off your co-worker’s dessert, and before you know it, you have consumed some major calories. Next time, just be mindful of your little actions. Also be careful what’s inside your drinks like alcohol, coffee and tea (There’s so much calories there too).
