Human Growth Hormone (HGH) enhances the cellular repair processes that allow us to age with grace. HGH regulates metabolism to burn fat, build muscle, and slow-down the negative effects of stress. Another important characteristic of HGH is that it enhances collagen production and repair. Healthy collagen creates softer skin, reduces wrinkles, and enhances one`s complexion. Additionally, this strengthens and supports our joints as they age.

Most people see their HGH levels decline with age; however, certain lifestyle modification helps to maximise HGH secretion throughout life.

  • Do high-intensity, short time period resistance training and surge-style training daily. Ideal time is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • Be in bed early and sleep between 7-8 hours each night. The body secretes large doses of HGH between the hours of 10pm – 2am. Sleeping maximises HGH.
  • Keep blood sugar under control by eating a diet low in sugar/grains and high in nutrient dense superfoods, healthy proteins, and good fats.
  • Use a non-denatured whey protein from a grass-fed cow or goat. Whey protein contains L-glutamine and branched chain amino acids that help maximise HGH secretion.
  • See a wellness chiropractor for a posture and neurological evaluation that will access the function of the body’s healing process.

Give your face an Expert’s touch! Applying Make-up (smartly) to Take-off the years

If you’re looking for an expert’s opinion, here are some anti-ageing make-up tips from Bobbi Brown, a well-known make-up artist and author of three best sellers on beauty. Bobbi Brown is also the founder of her own multimillion-dollar cosmetics business.

Blush:

Sweep blush on the apple of your cheek (meatiest part when you smile). Brush in a circular motion out toward your hairline to avoid streaks.

Lipstick:

Avoid dark lipstick. Wear soft, vibrant tones such as berry, rose, or apricot to add a splash of color and make lips look larger. Then dab gloss in the centre of the lower lip to reflect light and give the illusion of fullness.

Powder:

Dust powder only where needed, usually your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin). Otherwise, face powder settles into skin, highlighting rather than hiding winkles.

Eye Shadow:

Avoid frosted eye shadow. Wear shimmer or sheen shadows that are finely milled and less likely to settle in creases.

Eyeliner:

Avoid bottom heavy eyeliner, which makes eyes look tired. The upper lids should look a tad more intense than the bottoms to frame and make eyes pop.
