5 Moms Share What It Means To Be A Mom
For the mommies-to-be mentioned above, an exciting chapter in life awaits them. It is a road that is filled with sacrifice, love and immense joy. When you become a mother, you become a provider, protector, disciplinarian, counsellor and companion. When you become a mother, your own wants and needs take a backseat as you readily sacrifice to fulfil the wants and needs of your child. Here are 5 awesome moms who share just what it means to be a mother. It’s very heartwarming to read them!
1. Azlyna Awang
Being a career woman and a mother at the same time is quite challenging for me. My kids love to eat homemade meals so I need to cook everyday even I am tired. House chores is also tricky. So, I will try to clean one part of the house in one day and next part on another day.
Apart from that, being a good parent also means I need to understand my kids’ feelings. I need to be in their shoes. I need to learn with them, play with them and be friends with them. If they are happy, I am happy, too.
2. Syera Syera
What I love about being a mom is having the chance to see things all shiny and new through my daughter’s eyes. She just turned three this year, so everything’s all about new words, new sounds, and repeating things that she hears (which isn’t always one of the greatest things)! It’s the best when you are in the I’m-tired-of-being-a-mama mood and your toddler bursts out with something awesome. My wee tot’s favorite word right now is ‘catty (our cat). She tosses catty into every short sentence she uses, like, “I want water… and catty, please.” It makes my parenting journey so fun!
3. Nuha Mohd
Being a mom is something that is so full of mixed emotions that you can only really feel once you have become a parent to your own children. It is being there through the tantrums, the milestones and the tears. It means loving that little person which is created from my pure love, more than I could ever love myself, or anybody else.
I would readily lose sleep to comfort them from their nightmares.
I would risk my own life for that small person, I would surely die to save them if I needed to. Being a parent is never a burden. It’s loving someone else wholeheartedly and unconditionally for eternity. Being a parent to my child is not a job. It’s a privilege that I will definitely cherish it forever.
4. Kai Ling
For me, parenting is a privilege, not something anyone can afford to take for granted. Parenting children is a fufilling, frustrating, wonderful, happy and sad experience. As a parent, our role is to give guidance and support to our children so they can be the best they can be. We are the ones who love them unconditionally and the one they can always trust to catch them when they fall. Also, as a parent, I always hope they can stay happy and healthy forever.
5. Audrey Wong
“Before you came into my life, being a parent to me means a jail term and the end of being carefree. But when you were put into my arms and as I gazed into your tiny perfect face, I knew then that I want to keep you forever happy and safe. I never felt such an overflowing emotion of unconditional love before. Even if it means foregoing things I loved because I love you even more. You have taught me so many things in my parenthood journey. Like bathing, burping, nursing and of course, how to change a soiled nappy. One day you won’t be so little anymore and you will leave to build your own family. But in my heart, you will always be my sweet little baby.”
