The Federal Academy of Ballet has five branches throughout the Klang Valley.
With dedicated teachers and loyal students, FAB remains an icon as one of Malaysia’s top dance schools.
It’s headquarters, in Wisma FAB at the Right Angle in Section 14, Petaling Jaya, consists of a five-storey building which houses six studios, a library, a studio theatre and music rooms. It also has access to the auditorium of the nearby Petaling Jaya Civic Centre.
The Academy offers practical classes in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz, Tap, Social Dance, Aerobics and Chinese and Malay Cultural Dances as well as Music. Theory classes in music, history and anatomy are also available for those who wish to gain qualifications for teaching.
In addition, there are also part-time and full-time teacher training courses leading to a Diploma of the Federal Academy of Ballet and Certificates of the Royal Academy of Dancing and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, London.
Many of the Academy’s students have studied at distinguished foreign dance schools such as the Royal Ballet School. Some have won well-earned scholarships from Bush Davies, Central School of Ballet, Urdang Academy and the London Studio Centre.
Our annual ballet concerts and frequent live and broadcast performances have paved the way for our star students to perform with prominent Swedish, Swiss, German, Dutch and British Dance Companies.
Our teachers are friendly and caring and our students lean in the best atmosphere there is – warm and inspiring. We are dedicated to raising the standard of dance, both in performance and instruction.
In the history of both the RAD (Royal Academy of Dancing, London) and the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, London) Examinations in Malaysia, the first ever students to score honours – the highest accolade a dancer could possibly achieve academically – at the Pre-Elementary, Elementary and Intermediate (and ISTD Advanced) Levels were all from the Federal Academy of Ballet.
