Why choose Fairview International School Subang?

5.0
As a parent ourselves, we were looking for an education system that help the children to learn and develop soft skills like leadership, teamwork, collaboration, communication and feedback and more. Why? Because those are essential skills for the children when they are in the working environment, regardless self-employ or employment.

We came to know IB, another education system beside the well known IGCSE.

We are happy that we enrolled our son to Fairview Subang back in Aug 2019.

How did we make our decision? Thankfully Fairview provided 3 days trial class. During the 3 days trial class, our children get to join the actual class, learning the same thing, doing the same school work, participate in all activities. There is no special arrangement for trial, everything as what it is in the actual school.

We still remembered that our children told us every day how they like the school for the 3 days trial class. The classes were not boring. There were many activities, many discussions, many thought sharing and more. On the last day, our children presented us what they had learn, through small performance or work presentation. It was quite astonishing to see how they managed to learn in 3 days and involved themselves into the class so fast. After the trial class, our children made friends and they continued to contact with each other even though we didn’t enroll our children. The enrolment was after 2 years.

Well, we didn’t immediately enrolled both of them, because we would like to understand more. We spent time to talk to teacher, learning how the school work and IB. One of the thing that we like about IB is teachers encourage feedback and opinion sharing, helping the children to do reflection to develop themselves.

We also went to education fair, and we went with open minded to learn about other system. We talk to many schools, IB or IGCSE or specialty skill type of school. At the end, we came to our decision with IB. We see IB equally emphasize on academic, critical soft skills and exposure to different activities.

After 2 years my eldest son studying in Fairview Subang, he made a lot of achievements and we can see there are many opportunities and various things he can have and can do.

First year, he danced on stage as Michael Jackson, won the performance competition. He went to orphan house to help and contribute back to the society. He learned about some survival skill and he taught us that. And in academic, he is awarded with the distinction award.

Second year, unfortunately due to pandemic, outdoor activities are removed. However, that doesn’t stop the activities, he did pod casting to public, he joined Kangaroo math competition, won ASMO school round (science) competition. In academic, he was again awarded with distinction award and this year he also awarded with global citizenship award.

3rd year now, he achieved another great achievement which he is now appointed as student council president.

The school provides children with opportunities, learning platform and teachers play very big role. Teachers help the children to develop their skill and specialty, all rounded. During the pandemic, my son is having class online at home. From there, I can see how teachers are teaching. Teachers are open to feedback and questions, and more importantly teachers are helping the children to see things differently.

After our son, our daughter is now enrolled into Fairview Subang too. She clearly showed different attitude and behaviour towards study and homework. She didn’t share much about her previous school but now she always tell us story in Fairview. We are so happy with that.

During her 1st year, she got her first achievement, winning 2nd place in Merdeka art contest. She is appointed as project leader, playing the role to manage the project. We believe that there are more for her in the coming years, we wish her and her brother all the best.

If you are looking more than just academic, maybe do give sometimes to know about IB and Fairview Subang. You probably found something you want.

I choose Fairview International School (飞优国际学校) because it is Malaysia’s largest network of IB World Schools, with campuses located in Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, Ipoh, Penang and Johor Bahru. The international school also has a presence in Scotland, and in Batam, Indonesia. As I intend to transfer my child to UK soon, having a school that has a branch in Scotland promises a seamless transition.

Many parents told me that Malaysia’s Fairview International School is synonymous with academic excellence, integrity and lifelong opportunity and I do agree after i sent my child to Fairview. It has been named by many world renowned educators as one of the top 10 international schools in Malaysia, and since its inception Fairview has nurtured thousands of children from some of Asia’s finest and influential families.

Currently, Fairview, the much sought-after private school in Malaysia, has in excess of 2000 students from over 65 different nations and offer the IB Primary, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes worldwide. I think this is important so I don't need to spend a lot on registration fee and my child doens't need to go through the unnecessary transfer from one school to another
