While parents will always play an important part in a kid’s life, a good portion of one’s formative years are spent in school, acquiring an education. School life and the school environment are critical factors and school teachers play a pivotal role in shaping and molding future generations.

Teaching is more than just a job. It’s a calling for divine work that is simply not for everyone. Not many can even begin to comprehend the amount of work that has to be done by good teachers. Teaching is usually a long-term occupation and teachers have to be lifelong learners who relish the chance to grow and evolve. Good teachers always understand the importance of being upgraded to the times and are open to learn newer, more relevant methods to improve their teaching abilities. They wish to grow and continue to make teaching meaningful and engaging. As American philosopher and psychologist John Dewey stated, “If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.”

Teachers have the opportunity to be amidst the most impressionable lives, touching their hearts and minds. For many, their work has no end but the rewards are great.
