The New Clorox Scentiva in Tuscan Lavender & Jasmine transforms the home into an idyllic paradise with a mild lavender fragrance, infused with hints of jasmine, vanilla and white sandalwood, punctuated with the freshness of crisp green apples and tart red berries. The effect of scent and power of clean on emotions
Recent and new research from Clorox reveals how scents, cleaning and clean spaces trigger positive emotional responses. Some key findings include:
Fragrances significantly affect moods.
In one survey, close to three quarters of respondents agree that smells have a major impact on their mood, with 62 percent saying a nice-smelling home makes them feel relaxed while 55 percent also feel happy.
Guests do judge hosts by the smells of their homes.
The findings also reveal that when visiting someone’s home for the first time, 50 percent of respondents ranked “the smell of the home” as one of the top three factors influencing their perception of the host. This factor jumps to the top of the list for women, with one-in-five (19 percent) citing it as the most influential consideration.
Clean spaces boost happiness.
Results from another survey combined with statistical modeling show that there is a measurable increase in happiness and productivity indicators as well as a significant decrease in stress indicators in clean spaces. Of the survey respondents, 80 percent reported clean surroundings help them feel more relaxed, 72 percent experienced increased productivity while 60 percent were less stressed.
Interestingly, the more people clean, the happier they reported to be. The survey outcomes indicate that the likelihood someone is happier than average increases by 53 percent for every additional hour that they clean in a week.
