When my daughter was born we had a very hard time having her latch. These shields helped her not only latch well and eat enough but also saved my nipples from the painful 'chewing' style eating that my daughter does. These have a slightly thicker plastic than other brands allowing for them to stay on better while nursing. Overall, it is functional, affordable nipple shields. They are very flexible, but serve their purpose. Especially when my nipples were cracked and sore, they provided relief while nursing while my nipples healed. .
