Marjoram is the dried leaves of Marjorana hortensis Moench. Marjoram is a low bushy plant belonging to the mint family and grown as an annual. The leaves are grayish green, narrow, and about 1 cm long, and possess a pleasant aromatic odor and have a warm, slightly bitter taste. Marjoram is native to the Mediterranean region and Western Asia.
