The 9th Selangor International Expo for Food and Beverage (SIE F&B) is poised to continue its success last year. Scheduled to be held from 19 to 22 October 19 2023, in Exhibition Halls 6 – 8 at the KL Convention Centre, the event is expected to feature 349 exhibition stalls. As one of the major F&B events in Malaysia, SIE F&B 2023 is anticipated to draw in more food industry players and food supply chains from both local and international markets.

The last edition of SIE F&B, held in 2022, saw a remarkable turnout of 427 participating companies occupying 472 booths, with exhibitors from 20 countries joining the event. With such a diverse and widespread participation, it highlights SIE F&B’s reputation as a premier event in the F&B industry, and it continues to attract attention from various sectors of the market.

This year’s SIE F&B 2023 will be a part of the 4-day Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), which is organised by the Selangor State Government and powered by Invest Selangor Berhad. Themed “Selangor, Gateway to Asean”, the 7th edition of SIBS will be held from October 19-22 at the KL Convention Centre, the event is expected to bring in 50,000 visitors and generate RM1.5 billion in potential sales. With 1,050 booths, the summit will occupy eight exhibition halls and two conference halls.

During the media launch event for Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2023 & Iftar with the media, Datuk Teng Chang Khim, the Selangor State Executive Councillor for Industry and Trade, announced the opening of visitor registration for the event at www.selangorsummit.com. He is confident that SIBS 2023 would be as successful, if not more successful, than the previous year’s event, which achieved RM1.45 billion in potential transactions.

 

“Our expectation is that this year’s summit will create additional opportunities for multinational corporations, small and medium enterprises to exhibit their products and services, as well as serve as a valuable platform for developing collaborations and partnerships,” he said.

 

The four-day summit will feature a total of six unique concurrent events, bringing into the limelight the broad range of business and investment opportunities available. In addition to SIE F&B, the other events comprise of:
  1. The 9th Selangor International Expo (Medic), to be organised in the Grand Ballroom 1 & 2 will provide a total of 115 exhibition booths.
  2. The 3rd Selangor Industrial Park Expo (SPARK 2023), will showcase industrial park operators and developers from Malaysia and the region. SPARK 2023 will be organised in Exhibition Halls 4 & 5, and a total of 224 exhibition booths have been prepared.
  3. The 7th Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC 2023) is a two-day event and will feature 700 attendees from both local and international including some notable speakers from the region. The first day of SABC 2023 will take place at the Plenary Hall and for the second day, there will be two tracks running concurrently: the Investment Track and the Smart City Track to be held at the Banquet Hall and Plenary Theatre respectively. The theme for this year’s SABC is “Selangor Epicentre of ASEAN: Leveraging Diversity, Catalysing Opportunity, Creating Prosperity.”
  4. The 8th Selangor Smart City & Digital Economy Convention (SDEC 2023) will be organised by Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy (SIDEC) Corporation in Exhibition Hall 1 & 2 offering 274 exhibition booths. SDEC 2023 will also feature several forums and side programs, including the Malaysia Top E-Merchant Awards, which will attract more industry players, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
  5. The 4th Selangor R&D And Innovation Expo (SRIE 2023) this year, will be organised by Yayasan Selangor. This exhibition will house a total of 88 exhibition booths in Conference Halls 1-3, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
On top of these main programs, SIBS 2023 will also feature three other parallel events:
  1. The Selangor International Culinary Festival (SICF), jointly organised by the Malaysian Professional Culinaire Association (PCA), will be participated by a total of 200 professional chefs and culinary students from local colleges and universities. The Selangor International Culinary Festival will take place at Exhibition Hall 8C.
  2. The Selangor International Healthcare Conference (SIHC) which will be held from 20-21 October 2023, and will feature a panel of international speakers from the healthcare and pharmaceuticals industries. A total of 250 participants will attend this two-day conference.
  3. Selangor International Business Summit Invitational Golf Tournament 2023 will be held on 21 October 2023 and played by 120 players from SIBS conference, exhibition and international participants together with senior officials of the Selangor State Government and subsidiaries of the Selangor State Government.
SIBS is also set to embark on an ASEAN Roadshow starting in May, visiting several key cities to create more awareness and generate interest in SIBS.
