Giving your baby a bath has to be one of the most loving moments in a parent’s life. The gentle, soft caresses, baby’s curious gazes, the odd smile from your little bundle now and then… these are experiences that no parent can forget.
Have all you need at hand
Be sure to have everything you need at hand before you start giving your baby a bath. With the bath tub in place, ensure that your baby’s wash/cleanser, baby shampoo, towel, lotion, diaper, baby massage oil (if using) and clothing are on standby.
If it’s not meant for a baby, don’t use it
Ruling out bath products which are not specifically made for babies is one way to narrow down your selection. A baby’s skin is way more vulnerable and permeable than an adult’s and hence, is capable of absorbing more harmful ingredients into the bloodstream. Products made specifically for babies are in general, manufactured mindful of this fact and hence contain less or no harsh cleansing agents or ingredients that will harm the natural protective layer of a baby’s skin.
Mildness factor
When choosing a wash/cleanser for your baby research on the mildness of the product and not just its effectiveness. The fact is, baby’s skin does not need intensive cleaning like older children’s or adults’. The mildness meter of a baby wash product is more important than its ability to clean, for when it comes to babies, the difference between a baby wash product and some warm water with a few cotton balls would probably be the pleasant, sweet fragrance. Who doesn’t love the scent of a sweet-smelling baby?
