KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – 29 NOVEMBER 2018 – Swee Lee Music (sweelee.com.my), a leading retailer of music instruments in Southeast Asia, today launched a newly refurbished national flagship store in Malaysia. The renovated store, located on the third floor of Lot 10 Mall, is one of three Swee Lee properties in Malaysia and its 15th in Southeast Asia.
The new Lot 10 store represents Swee Lee’s latest retail evolution in Malaysia and caters to all music lovers. With a floor size of 4,995 sq ft, Swee Lee Lot 10 maintains its core product lineup of music instruments but also introduces new features: the Swee Lee Cafe, a vinyl section, curated lifestyle products, and second-hand guitars in partnership with established used and vintage retail brand ‘Well Played Gear’.
There is something for everyone at Swee Lee Lot 10: from the absolute beginner to the professional musician, as well as lovers of music culture. Customers can come to browse globally renowned instrument brands such as Fender, Gibson, Taylor, Marshall, MONO, Epiphone, Native Instruments, Gretsch and Novation in addition to consumer audio products from market leaders such as Marshall and Bang & Olufsen. An experienced and well-trained customer service team are on-hand to help, whether it is your first time shopping for an instrument, or your fiftieth.
The new store brings Swee Lee’s latest experiential retail design to Malaysia for the first time. The retro-futuristic aesthetic, which equally incorporates wood and concrete, is built to appeal to all music lovers as a welcoming space. This is supported by the integrated feel of the space which naturally unfolds from the store’s signature display of instruments, to vinyl, and Swee Lee Cafe at the rear.
The Cafe space will be a welcoming, flexible space – with the ability to host events and intimate live performances, as demonstrated at the launch event with performances from local indie alt-rock group, Midnight Fusic, and singer-songwriter, Leaism.
The SLSC Cafe will serve espresso bar drinks featuring a carefully curated selection of coffee beans, and a selection of artisan cakes and desserts made by local bakers Little Tee Cakes, That Last Slice and Souka. The Cafe blends music, street art and culture in a single space designed to be social and welcoming. The eye is naturally drawn to the signature mural by regional artist Eric Foenander and furniture built from local teak by KL-based woodworkers Fine Grit, providing additional visual accents.
Another highlight of the store is the vinyl section – an inviting listening and digging space with a strong selection of 1,200+ new records with thousands more to come in 2019, ranging from top of the pops to deep cuts. The vinyl section also sports turntables, speakers and the latest vinyl accessories from Audio Technica, Crosley, Edifier, Kanto and Pro-Ject.
Commenting on theopening of the refurbished store, Meng Ru Kuok, Managing Director of Swee Lee Music, said: “Since Swee Lee began operating in Malaysia three years ago, we’ve been delighted to support local musicians as they pursue their creative journeys.
