The Dyson Cyclone V10 cord-free vacuum is built around the Dyson digital motor V10. The new motor allowed Dyson engineers to rotate the cyclones and bin assembly by 90 degrees, into an in-line format, creating a linear airflow path. It also allows a ‘point and shoot’ bin emptying mechanism for ease of use.

Separation

Other cyclonic vacuums can be inefficient. Dust and dirt are not efficiently separated from the airflow so it instead ends up on the filter where it chokes the airflow from the motor. Suction drops.

The Dyson Cyclone V10™ cord-free vacuum has no loss of suction – which means that its suction performance is constant. 14 cyclones are precisely arranged around the central axis of the machine, enabling the airflow inside each cyclone to travel at up to 120 miles per hour, generating over 79,000G, separating even microscopic dust from the air efficiently.

Filtration
Other vacuum cleaners can expel dust, allergens and bacteria into the air you breathe.

Dyson engineers have wrapped both the pre- and post-motor filters around the motor as one sealed unit, for improved whole-machine filtration, capturing 99.97% of allergens as small as 0.3 microns thus releasing cleaner air.

Energy Storage System

Dyson engineers wanted to deliver enough power to the fast spinning Dyson digital motor V10, while also extending the runtime. They engineered a more energy-dense battery, without any additional weight. Along with improved electronics and battery system management, it gives the new Dyson Cyclone V10 cord-free vacuum up to 60 minutes of suction. And because the machine has a trigger, rather than an on/off switch the moment you pull the trigger, the motor starts and accelerates to operating speed in a fraction of a second.

Cleaner heads

Dyson engineers don’t stop at the vacuum itself – they are passionate about developing better cleaner heads and tools too. The direct-drive cleaner head has a powerful motor located inside the brush bar. This drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet pile to remove ground-in dirt and pet hair, while there are also soft anti-static carbon fibre filaments to remove fine dust from hard floors. The soft-roller cleaner head removes large debris and fine dust from hard floors simultaneously. A larger roller covered in soft woven nylon traps large debris, whilst anti-static carbon fibre filaments remove fine dust. A direct-drive motor sits within the roller, allowing full-width, edge to edge cleaning.

Perfect Suction Power

5.0
This, hands down, has to be best cordless vacuum cleaner I've ever used. At the gentle push of the button, not unlike pumping petrol at the petrol kiosk, it's ready to suck up any dirt that stands in its way. The design is appealing - being very sleek and modern, and assembly is very simple with multiple and optional head attachments to clean hard floors, carpeted floors and more. Since our office is covered in carpet, we opted to use the direct drive cleaner head which has stiff bristles that drive deep into carpets to dislodge trapped dust. Combined with the powerful digital motor that spins up to 125,000 rpm, this vacuum cleaner sucked up so much dirt from a relatively clean-looking carpet that it just astounded me and my office mates. We had no idea that so much of gunk was lying underneath the carpet surface. It could suck up bits and pieces of paper and even strings, but we noticed that it simply spits out bigger pieces of paper - which we feel is a great move to prevent disruptions in operation. Nevertheless, we felt so much better after the deep-cleaning vacuuming session. It was also very smooth and easy to manoeuvre the cordless vacuum cleaner through tricky corners in a completely one-handed operation. Such a different experience to my other brand of cordless vacuum cleaner where I had to use my feet to guide the head to the direction and angle that I wanted. The motor wasn't loud even though it was quite close to my ears as compared to a conventional corded vacuum cleaner. Although it felt initially light, you can start to feel all 2.70kg of it if you go all out and exhaust its 60-minute long charge - which is more than double of other conventional cordless stick vacuum cleaners. But it does give the arm a great workout! What I loved most was not having to cut nor untangle hair and brush off dust and dirt from the attachment head after vacuuming. Verdict: Those who want gleaming clean carpets and floors should seriously consider getting one in their homes and offices!
