Organic Skin Co’s Lipsticks That Wow And Nourish

As a minimalist, I tend to choose the best make-up products that will bring about the most long-lasting effect for the job. It’s even better if it’s organic and good for the skin. So when I saw this lovely lipstick by the Organic Skin Co, I knew I had to try it.

After all, you can literally transform your whole appearance just by applying lipstick. Great impact with minimal effort – what’s not to like, eh?

The lovely and experienced beauty consultant Chandrika recommended Blossom Lipstick which suits my skin tone. Indeed, the lipstick is a rich in colour and looks stunning on my lips. Being made with 70% organic ingredients, it is also free of parabens, nanos, bismuth oxychloride, gluten and talc. This is all good news for my ears!

Here’s the complete list of ingredients: Organic Castor Seed Oil, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (Made From Coconut), Organic Bees Wax, Carnauba Wax, Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Organic Rosemary Supercritical CO2 Extract, Organic Jojoba Seed Oil, Organic Rosehip Oil, Organic Calendula Supercritical CO2 Extract. May Contain Coloursx Iron Oxides (CI 77891, CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499) Mica (CI 77019), (CI 12085), (CI 15850.1), (CI 45410×2), Ultramarine Blue (CI 77007).

The lipstick is manufactured with carnauba wax, also known as ‘the queen of waxes’, which protects the lips against harsh environmental elements and makes the product less affected by temperature changes. The organic sunflower seed oil, jojoba seed oil and rosehip oil serve to nourish the lips. What a wonderful concoction!

I also absolutely love their designer packaging – the bamboo lipstick case certainly exudes a sense of natural classiness.

And here is the colour swatch with the lightest application at the bottom and building up to the top. Even with just one application, the colour is quite intense and the build-up of colour intensity is pretty gradual.

I decided to put it on for a dinner event. Below are the requisite ‘Before’ and ‘After’ shots. The Before pic is me without a spot of make-up on. The After pic is after one application of the lipstick but already you can see the difference. Full disclosure, I’ve also put on the Organic Skin Co’s Purely Primer to balance any uneven skin tone.

And the photo below is me after two applications of the delightful lipstick. This is the shade I like and it did last me till after my dinner a few hours later.
